Team Drivers – Class 1 CANADA-US

Main responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Transport goods and materials between Canada and the United States, following designated routes and schedules.
- Collaborate with co-drivers to ensure timely deliveries and efficient loading/unloading processes.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, rest periods, and other relevant information as required by law.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Handle documents such as bills of lading and receipts accurately and promptly.
- Ensure the safety of goods and vehicles, including proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly and in accordance with company policies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a long-haul truck driver.
- Knowledge of cross-border regulations and customs procedures between Canada and the United States (an asset).
- Strong commitment to safety, both for yourself and others on the road.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Functional English.
Additional Information
- Routes departing from Brampton and covering multiple western provinces, including MB, SK, AB, and BC.
- Potential for multiple deliveries to various warehouses, primarily focused on MB, SK, and AB.
- Handling of meat or poultry shipments from the west, destined for the United States or Canada.
- Possibility of routes to various destinations in the United States from AB, covering states such as MI, OH, PA, MD, IL, NE, CO, GA, and TX.
- Flexibility in routing: in the absence of deliveries to the United States, shipments may be directed within Canada, departing from BC, AB, or SK.
- Expectation to complete a minimum of 2 trips to western Canada before returning home, with the possibility of additional trips based on available hours.
Waiting time $12.50/hour (per driver), Switch $25, Drop and hook (1st) $20, Drop and hook (2nd) $30, Rate: $0.68/mile.
