Dispatcher Assistant

The dispatcher assistant helps with dispatch-related tasks, including creating and closing trips, generating manifests, and supporting drivers. They manage communication with drivers and stakeholders, conduct routine checks, and prepare reports as needed to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of goods.
Main responsibilities
- Processing driver envelopes and accurately entering information into the system.
- Rigorous tracking of proof of deliveries (PODs).
- Implementation and monitoring of ACE/ACI procedures for customs clearance.
- Close collaboration with dispatch for updates on local routes.
- Assisting in the progress of trips to the United States, with updates as necessary.
- Accurate entry of orders into the system (KMR) and processing of trip tenders.
- Managing proof of deliveries (POD) for certain clients, promptly sending to customer service.
- Coordination of brokerage fees from Highway 401 and tracking of trailers with correct location.
- Monitoring office supplies.
- Contributing to the list and tracking of trailers in accordance with SAAQ requirements.
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a position related to transportation or logistics
- Good command of Office suite software (Word, Excel and Outlook);
- Knowledge of U.S. roads (strong asset);
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Diplomacy, courtesy and honesty;
- Availability and flexibility to replace the dispatcher during their vacation and as needed.
